Rachel & Tom - Branston Hall Lincolnshire Wedding

Rachel & Toms wedding was my first ever time photographing at Branston Hall Hotel which I've been absolutely dying to shoot at for a number of years now, Being a Lincoln Wedding Photographer i'm amazed its taken me so long!!

I first met Rachel and Tom at a friends wedding, so knowing we have a similar friend group was an amazing way to star! since then I've met them at a number of other weddings and I photographed Rachels Brothers wedding so Photographing Rachel & toms was fabulous as I already knew a lot of the people who were there on the day.

Our first 'professional' meeting was at their engagement photoshoot, at which point I learnt that Tom feels super awkward posing for photographs, so we kept it natural, barring Tom doing his 'posed kiss' which was absolutely hilarious. One thing i really appreciate about engagement shoots with my wedding couples is that its a great way to understand how you guys feel about having photographs as a couple.

Anyway! back to the wedding!! If you haven't ever been to Branston Hall, its one of those venues that grabs your attention the second you start driving up to it. A beautiful stately home, with stunning grounds surrounding it. I went up stairs to meet the bride and bridesmaids having their makeup done by the talented Lana Kenik in a room overlooking the front aspect of the venue ( great for a spot of guest watching). I started capturing a few of the bridal preparations along with Rachels stunning dress and accessories.

The boys decided to arrive early at the venue which also gave me chance to capture some of the Groom Prep along side the Bridal, now if you've ever seen 3 big lads trying to clamber out of a classic mini - its one of those sights that you can't witness without laughing! The Grooms pride and joy obviously had to play a part in their wedding day! so the mini was their wedding car & being a mini driver myself - it was gorgeous!!!! Tom being a passionate mechanic made sure his trade played an influence in their wedding day as you will see by the detail photos!

With the wedding being an October wedding and the weather either side of the 13th being awful ( and I mean AWFUL) we were extremely lucky for it to be as beautiful as it was, even if it was blowing a gale we managed to find some secluded spots for some beautiful photographs meaning regardless of it being a winter wedding - everyone got to experience the beautiful grounds of the venue!

After a beautiful ceremony, we went outside and captured the group shots, had a fabulous meal and got ready for the evening reception. Just before the first dance Rachel and Tom decided to have a sparkler walk outside, which was interesting trying to light sparklers in gale force winds, but one of the best men came to the rescue, at which point he had about 70 people dive on him to light theres haha! Problem solved! can't light a sparkler? find a smoker :D

The dance floor was in full swing at the point of me leaving for the evening - with some pretty impressive dance moves!
