5 reasons to have a pre-wedding Photoshoot

Updated: Jun 12, 2019

The time before you become Husband and Wife is pretty special, full of excitement, anticipation, love.. therefore i think capturing this special time between a couple is something all couples should consider. Here are some of the reasons why you will benefit from thus rare oportunity:

1. It establishes a comfortable connection between us

One thing that I strive for with every couple is for you to feel completely comfortable around me whilst i'm taking your photograph. Having a pre wedding photoshoot is the perfect opportunity for us to get to know each other, have a bit of a giggle and for you to obtain an understanding of the way i'll be with you on your big day. Establishing a good relationship is really important to me and if you feel relaxed and comfortable around me, its going to show in your photographs.

2. its important to capture the time before Mr & Mrs

Wether you've been together years and years or just a few months, the time before you become man and wife is a truly special one and one that will never happen again and worth having a permanent reminder of the anticipation, the love and the time before you were husband and wife. Therefore i like to capture your pre-wedding images in a place thats special to you both, wether its the place you first met, the place you like to walk with the dog or the even just at home. If a place is special to you the photographs will mean even more.

3. Practice makes perfect.

Lets face it, how many of us have regular professional photoshoots? So many of my clients tell me that they 'hate having their photographs taken' yet how many of us have a million blurry selfies on our phones that we have zero intention of ever hanging on the wall or showing anyone?

I'm a big believer in natural being best, therefore i like to let you both just be yourselves during your shoot with a few little tips along the way. Having a 'practice' will give you an idea into how ill be on the wedding day with you, without all the other distractions your likely to face on the day and you will know what to expect rather than getting anxious about it.

4. It gives us time to REALLY talk about your wedding photography ideas

Alongside having our initial consultation I find that having your engagement shoot within a few months of your wedding day gives us a great chance to have a good chinwag about all the little details and ideas that you have for the big day.

Every couple is so individual and unique that i love to really know what makes each of you tick when it comes to having your photographs taken, find out all the details you have planned, the kind of photographs you love, what you love so much about your chosen venues, any special ideas that you have for the day means i can make sure your wedding photographs are everything you dream of.

5. It gives you a chance to just be 'together'

Lets face it, wedding planning is a pretty stressful thing to do, many of my couples have children, work, family members to care for, are in the armed forces or generally just don't get to spend quality time together as a couple so this is the perfect excuse to go have a loved up, fun hour or so together, in a beautiful location and really spend some quality time together that will be captured for you to remember.
