You may recognise the crazy cat people in these wedding photos! Remember the cat engagement session? Well it was FINALLY time for these two lovebirds to tie the knot after booking me a whole two years ago. I have to say, Lisa has been the most amazing bride! beyond laid back, full of ideas, and i have to say a serious eye for detail because their wedding styling was so lovely and the colours were to die for!
I started by meeting the girls at the Poachers ready for the preparations whilst my second shooter for the day ( the amazing Charlotte Booth Photography) went over to get the groom preparations over at Michaels Parents House in Kirton. I arrived to a bustle of excited ladies with hair & makeup in full flow and I began work on the detail shots before the bride took her seat with the hair & Makeup artists. Now, Lisa's dress... Absolutely stunning in everyway & full on princess mode! Im really loving that this year every wedding dress I've come across is so individual & different from the last!
Lisa & Michaels colour scheme was subtle tones of pinks and lilacs and the flower arrangements by Kirton Flower shop were just exquisite - infact ive never seen roses these colours before!
The chaps arrived all suited, booted and looking super dapper as Lisa began to get into her dress and the guests started to arrive downstairs all ready for the ceremony.
After a beautiful service everyone wandered out into the closed garden of the poachers which is a serious sun trap! we were so lucky to have the most beautiful weather all day long!
Breaking tradition the speeches took place before the meal, to give everyone chance to relax and enjoy their food, there was lots of laughter and tears along which just showed everyone in the room that this pair really are meant for each other, through hard times and good.
Once the formalities (and food) were finished I stole the couple off for a few couples photos which we had decided to leave till later on once the sun had dropped a touch, and although the field may of been full of cabbages and the lovely hay field ploughed to mud ( darn you farmer) it never stopped this pair having a giggle. This is one of my favourite times on a wedding day. Not only does it give the couple chance to have photographs without everyone snapping away on their phones, it also gives them a bit of quality time together, away from all the hustle and bustle - I tend to keep the shots very natural to keep it nice and relaxed and even if its only 15 minutes, its 15 minutes they get together, nobody else, to discuss their day and have a good 'we did it' smooch. The beautiful late afternoon sun was just starting to lower giving the perfect lighting was perfect for portraits.
Once we had done the smoochiness, evening guests were starting to arrive, time to cut the amazingly topped cake and have a boogie!!!
Guys, it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of your day, thank you for letting me capture it, i think its pretty obvious by the sheer amount of photos below how much i loved your wedding day! Its been so amazing getting to now you both and its safe to say its an engagement and wedding that's going to be on my favourite list for a very long time.
