Rachael & James's Handmade wedding at Wigtoft, Boston

I LOVE when bride and grooms get really hands on with their weddings.. Being teachers, James & Rachael were always going to have that 'crafty' side to their special day! I first met this lovely pair when they booked in for one of our mini shoots and to date its still one of my favourite sessions so I was super happy when they got in touch with me to photograph their wedding.

When I arrived at the couples home in Wigtoft I was met by a bustle of ladies all getting hands on with the wedding day - from making signs to making the bouquets, there was a TON of personality soaking through every moment and Maid of Honour Victoria keeping everyone organised.

Now I have to give a special mention to rachaels amazing wedding dress, because it was absolutely stunning. Double layered with stunning lace - you'll see the photos below, It was gorgeous and looked stunning with the beautiful pale pinks they had with the bridesmaids gowns. Perfect for a spring days wedding and thankfully - for pretty much the first time this year - it was sunny! WOO!

After the bride was all dressed and ready to go I popped over to the church to get some photographs with James and his groomsmen, St Peter & St Pauls Church in Wigtoft is only few minutes away from the couples home, I could see straight away why they chose this please as their ceremony venue, not only is it down the road but its such a beautiful building and the reverend was just amazing giving the most wonderful service. Being a Lincolnshire Wedding photographer it actually shocked me that this was my first time photographing Wigtoft church, as i've photographed so many of the others in the area multiple times. If your around the area - go have a little visit, It really is a beautiful little building.

Now, one thing Rachael and James said when they booked me is that they wanted their day to be relaxed and fun, their absolute idea of hell was sitting around for hours on end having 'posed photographs' So, purely for importance we kept the formal shots to a minimum, with only close family members being involved and everyone else being involved in the more natural photographs later on during the reception - To keep to the fun side of things we had a little trip to the park for some photographs whilst they played on the swings and roundabouts!

One thing i love about being a wedding photographer is that every single wedding is different, wether its a stately home, a church, a village hall, each and every wedding has a little stamp of personality of your couple and that's what makes each one so fun. So After a little park play we went to Hubberts Bridge which is a village hall here in Boston, The couple had completely personalised the hall, with each guest having a photographed name place and a game of speech bingo, with prizes to make sure everyone stayed alert! GENIUS! following this was then the most delicious Afternoon tea, plenty of cake to go round!

Once all the formalities were out of the way guests were treated to some super competitive outdoor gaming, along with some sparkler fun and quite a lot of shots started making their way around the tables before everyone was up on their feet having a good dance!

Guys is was a pleasure!
