Well, Shooting a wedding at Whaplode manor has certainly been a long time coming for me! Ive heard a lot about it, and seen photographs of it from some of my photography chums I was really looking forward to shooting the fabulous day of Hannes & Siobhan who planned their wedding day at Whaplode Manor for 13th July 2019.
I never actually got to meet Hannes before the big day due to his work commitments, but upon meeting Siobhan I knew it was going to be an amazing day being the funny, relaxed person that she is; and arriving at the bridal prep at mums house the family really invite you in and I instantly felt at home amongst them, even when it was meeting them for the first time! <3
Siobhan decided that she would just like to have hair & Makeup done at home and save getting into her actual dress for the venue, so that's just how it went and I headed off to the venue around 45 minutes before they left, along with the videographer so we could get some venue shots before everyone arrived.
Whaplode Manor is situated in the beautiful Lincolnshire Fens, close to the market town of Spalding and the Cambs/Norfolk borders. The venue comprises a 19th century granary barn, which frames two sides of a stunning courtyard, coupled with the old stable block, lovingly converted into 6 country style accommodation rooms. I loved that there was a balcony over the ceremony room - That would come in handy for first dance photograph later on in the evening!
Siobhan decided that she would like to keep her being ready as a surprise as she walked down the stairs during the ceremony so after a dew detail shots of her absolutely stunning gown I headed off to get some photographs of the guest arrivals. With Hannes family being from Germany, a lot of them made the long journey to help them celebrate the day, I couldn't wait to see what traditions they brought with them.
After a heart felt ceremony, everyone headed outside in the sunshine for some group photographs and some drinks in the courtyard and we were greeted by the couples super excited dogs who had been brought along for an hour so they could be included in the celebrations.
Once the meal was out of the way the speeches proceeded and i have to say I don't think I've every belly laughed so much at speech, but Siobhan sister did amazing, and some of the 'growing up' stories were hilarious!
The evening finished with a beautiful first dance, followed by some singing from Hannes family, who had wrote a song About the couple especially for the day. Absolutely magical and I was singing it for the rest of the weekend!
Hannes & siobhan - AKA Mr & Mrs Reinhardt. It was an absolute pleasure to be involved in your big day. Thank you for having me - Here are a few of my favourites x
