Documentary Style Wedding Photography



You'll often see the words 'documentary style' photography banded around the place when it comes to wedding photography - so what does it actually mean & why do I choose to follow this route of photography?


Simply put, Documentary style wedding photography is a type of photography that captures candid and natural moments throughout a wedding day. The photographer aims to tell a story through their images, documenting the events and emotions as they unfold without interfering or directing the subjects. blending into the background and capture moments as they happen, resulting in a more organic and storytelling approach to wedding photography.

Why would you choose to have a documentary style photographer?


1. It captures genuine moments: Documentary style photography focuses on capturing candid and natural moments, rather than posed shots. This allows for you to have a more authentic and emotional representation of your wedding day., this however doesn't mean that you can't have any posed photographs (family photographs for instance tend to be more traditionally posed), but allowing your photographer to just capture things as your day flows will make your day much more enjoyable than strict timelines and fake poses for you.
